Certain dental costs in Ireland are tax-deductable. What happens if I go to Hungary?
As Hungary is an EU country, you can claim your tax back on your dental treatment in the same way as you would at home. All you need to do is to bring a med2 form with you and your Hungarian dentist will complete it when your treatment is finished. It is important to know, however, that not all treatments are included. This exclusion applies to: scale and polish, fillings, extractions, dentures, implants (except in circumstances relating to periodontal treatment). For more specific details please consult your med2 form, available from your local tax office or download a copy at the revenue website www.revenue.ie.
